Tina Danzansky

Tina Danzansky Aug. 26, 1920 - Dec. 27, 2012 Resident of Cupertino Tina passed away peacefully on December 27, 2012 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Fowler, CA and grew up in Santa Clara as the eldest child of a large family. Tina had a strong pioneering spirit and was the first woman from Santa Clara to volunteer for service in the Navy Waves during World War II. She was sent to Washington, DC where she served throughout the war. It was there that she met her husband, Sigmund Danzansky, who was then in the Army. They were married in 1946 and shared a beautiful marriage for 38 years. In 1974, Tina and Sig moved from Washington, DC to La Costa, California. Following Sig's death in 1984, she moved back to the Bay Area. Tina and Sig were blessed with three daughters. In between taking the girls to piano and ballet lessons she also carved out a career for herself as a very accomplished artist. She worked in watercolor and oils and showed her work at the Corcoran Gallery of Art. Tina received an Audubon Society award for her paintings of nature in the Washington, DC area. Tina is survived by her sister, Rosie D'Antonio, brothers, Dick (Mamie) and Fred Blanco, and sister-in-law Dorothy Blanco. She is also survived by three daughters: Roberta Rudman (Ric), Gale Klayman (Steven) and Lisa Cohn (Harold); and her stepson Michael Lefkow (Julie). She is also survived by her five grandchildren: David Rudman, Nikki Weisburd (Randy), Marla Barkoff (Jeff), Adam Cohn (Brie), and Jason Cohn; and her four step-grandchildren: Dave Lefkow (Christin), Mark Lekow (Missy), Susan Tucker (Chris), and Melissa Schmidt (Justin). She was also blessed with six great-grandchildren: Tyler and Caden Cohn, Hilary and Ryan Weisburd, Emmett and Raina Barkoff; and five step-great-grandchildren: Ashley, Dean, Bradley and Abby Lefkow; and, Fawn Tucker. Tina will be remembered by her friends and family for her artistic talents, resilience, a gracious spirit and her beautiful smile. A private funeral is planned at Alta Mesa Memorial Park in Palo Alto.
