John Smurthwaite Obituary
Resident of Campbell
Born August 24, 1932. Passed away peacefully on October 29, 2010. John was the loving husband of Joan Spencer since 1953. Faithful employee of GE Nuclear Energy for 29 years. Successful owner of Table Top Meetings. Served in the 40th Infantry and 7th Infantry Divisions of the US Army in Korea. Proud father of six children: Stewart, Michael, Douglas, Claudia, Milicent, and John. Proud grandfather of eleven grandchildren: Matthew, Leah, Dannielle, Erin, Regan, Samantha, Carolyn, Brandon, Sarah, Mollie, and Maddilynn.
Memorial Service Saturday, November 6th at Los Gatos Memorial Park. In lieu flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Campbell Veterans Memorial or the Country Women's Club of Campbell. Arrangements by DARLING FISCHER CAMPBELL MEMORIAL CHAPEL.

Rhonda emailed me. I'm so very sorry to hear about your Dad. There are no words that will make this time any easier, I know. I lost my Mom just after I graduated from SJSU. Time really does ease all pain. Just know how lucky you have been to have had him lovin on you and your family. My prayers are with you and yours.

What can one say to ease the heartache of the passing of a parent? We did not know him, but we know you Claudia and you are a wonderful, caring, thoughtful person. Surely you are a direct reflection of him. The world is a better place to have had an amazing man in our midst. You and your family are in our daily thoughts & prayers.

Dear Joan and Family,
My deepest sympathy on the passing of John. He will be greatly missed.
Sadly I will not be able to attend the Memorial Services on Saturday but will be sure to make a donation to Campbell Veterans' Memorial or Country Woman's Club of Campbell.
