Mary

Time has marched on and you still have Keenan in your heart - and so does everyone else

God Bless You and know the Angels are with you. Keep the Faith - our gift

Keenan Kirby was the best supervisor in over thirty years of working.
When I was a single parent and had to ask for time off for a doctor appointment, he would say that family came first. He was respected and loved by everyone fortunate enough to cross paths with him.

I would walk through fire to help Lt. Kirby, because I know he would do the same to help me or anyone else that he ever had contact with. He was a true "Hero" in my eyes, he would never ask you to do something that he wouldn't do himself. I'll always remember the trademark "Kirby" smile and honest way he had about him. He will be missed by everyone he touched.

My condolences

Mr. Kirby (Keenan) was a man of distinct character. As a young boy growing up across the street from the Kirby family on Marcia Ave in San Jose, Keenan taught me a few lessons about respect and making good decisions when I needed it most. I very much respected what he stood for.

I can only echo the words of my son Dave Livingston.."Keenan was the 'rock' of our neighborhood". Mike, Dave and I spent many happy hours with your wonderful family, and I thank you for those times. We are so sorry for your loss.

Keenan

I will always remember you as my favorite Lt at the SO. You always seemed to me to about the team and nor yourself. A truly and truthfully outspoken advocate for your Deputies. I proud to have worked for you.

My deepest sympathy goes out to your wife and children. They will know better than any of us that. You were a great man.

I am truly saddened to learn of the passing of my dear friend Keenan. Our paths crossed very early in our careers, as we were academy mates. At the time the department let us off early to go to school a half-day before returning to work. A number of us met each morning at a Milpitas doughnut shot before going to class. Here we established life long relationships. He was the top of our class.

When I moved to San Jose PD we remained friends. I always enjoyed out visits and came away a better person. This is a man who enjoyed the respect and admiration of everyone who had the honor of knowing him. He was always a good Cop; fair to everyone and his sense of humor and willingness to help others set him apart. He will be a person remembered for the rest of my life and that of many others.
