Kenneth R. Evans
Resident of San Jose
Ken was born in Kansas City, Missouri March 7, 1925 and passed away on October 29, 2010. Ken was married to the love of his life Billye Evans for 63 years. Billye passed away this past July, and Ken was never the same. Ken and Billye were blessed with two children Rebecca Stewart and her husband Robert, and Thomas Evans and his wife Patty. They also had five grandchildren: Katherine Stewart Lopez, Elizabeth Stewart, and Joseph, Jack, and Ellen Evans.
Ken was a roofer and member of Carpenter's Union Local 405 for over 60 years, and helped construct many of the homes and businesses in the San Francisco Bay Area starting with the post-WWII building boom. He was a dedicated union member, and took great pride in mentoring and teaching young construction workers. Ken was a veteran of World War II, a true member of the Greatest Generation.
A Memorial Service will be held Sunday November 14, 2010 at 12:30 pm at Christ the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church 1550 Meridian Avenue San Jose, CA 95125, where Ken and Billye were long time members. Ken loved his church. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the CGS Church Memorial Fund, address above. Local arrangements by DARLING FISCHER Campbell Memorial Chapel.

To the Evans family, sorry for your loss, may GOD give you his LOVE, PEACE, and STRENGTH in this time of sorrow. I want to thank him for serving his country and keeping us all FREE and SAFE, he is and will always be a HERO to many. May he R.I.P <3

I am so sorry to hear this news. I didn't know about Billie. Both of your parents were always so kind and loving to me. They were wonderful neighbors to me, as when I moved onto Grizilo, I was the young one there. Later after I had moved away but not to far, I used to see your Dad at the store or walking and he would catch me up on what was going on.
My sympathies for your losses.

I will miss Ken as I miss Billye. Eash Tuesday and Sunday he had "a little talk" with his "beautiful lady". My thoughts and prayers are with your family. Dorothy Simi, San Jose'

I am so very sorry to hear about this additional loss to your family. How very tragic - my heart goes out to you all. Your parents are now united together for eternity after their brief separation here on earth.
