Born and raised in San Jose, Veteran of WWII, Employed by Santa Clara Creamery for 17 years. Retired from Neto Sausage Co. in1981. Preceded in death by his beloved wife Evelyn. Survived by children Leonard (Donna) Matts and Janice (John) Unger, Grandchildren Michael and David Matts, Philip, Nicole, and Janelle Unger. Great-Grandchildren Even and Victoria Matts and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation on Sunday Dec 12 from 3 to 9 PM with a vigil a 7 and a Funeral Service on Mon. Dec 13 at 10:30 all being held at Lima Family Santa Clara 466 N. Winchester Blvd Santa Clara. Condolences may be offered at www.limafamilysc.com

Vern you will be greatly missed and appreciated by the Flores Family. Vern was a great landlord to us we lived at his 17th street duplex for almost 10 years and everymonth we would take our check to him just to chat with Vern he was such a delight to speak with always happy and welcoming us into his home. We were excited to tell Vern that we bought our first home but also sad that we were leaving the little duplex but Vern was so happy that we were moving into our own home. Special people like Vern Matts will always leave a lasting impression on our lives. Vern enjoy your next life with your beloved Evelyn.
