Dear Joe, I miss you with all my heart. I was just talking to someone last night about one of the times you came over and we had a huge crab feast. We sat at the table for hours eating fresh crab out of the pot talking about life. I miss you so much Joe. My heart will never fully heal. Cara

Joe Colletti-san,so intelligent w/ most diverse interests between work and personal; 3 yrs "gone" (but you're not) is indeed hard to believe, even tho we didn't always keep in touch. You will always be in my heart,in some ways soulmate to me (artistically) and definitely a soulmate to others while maintaining your "free spirit". Dang, would be nice to "reach out" to you now to hear that "hey you!". Somehow, I know you are still with the ones who appreciated and loved you most. I feel you still are there. Great memories of a most treasured friend who touched many live, family and beyond. With love and utmost respect, Mary Nicholson

Can't believe you're gone 3 years. I will still see something or read something and start to reach for the phone to share it with you like we use to always do. My sweet little brother words can't express how much you're missed.

I remember joe as a young man when I was a student at LHS. He was a bright fun loving guy. The world is a smaller place without him.

Message from Gregory Nethercutt ,
Greetings Cara,
You most likely do not recall me. I used to work with Joe at the Grog & Sirloin restaurant in Los Gatos
in the late 70's early 80s. Despite our age difference, Joe and I became quite good friends.
I find myself reflecting back and am amazed as to how much we shared. Some common areas of interest
Joe introduced me to:
Fiat X1/9
Husqvarna 250Cr
Jeff Beck(Guitar master!)
Joe was truly a quality human being. When my brother died in 1983, Joe came by to see how I was doing. He stayed for several hours despite the dark and sadness in my immediate life. I'm sure it was uncomfortable for him at the time but he stayed nonetheless.
I am deeply saddened by
Joe's passing. I was unaware
of this until recently. I was hoping to reconnect with him and do some motorcycling/4wheeling in Holister when I found out.
I wish you and the rest of the Colletti family all the best and happier days ahead. Take comfort and pride that Joe was obviously truly loved by many.
Sincerely,
Greg

Thought of you on your birthday, and wished I could call you. I still keep text messages from you in my cell phone. Silly, I know. But, it makes me feel you're not so far away. Still wish I could eat sushi with you, take a ride on the back of your bike, and argue politics with you. Amanda still loves the Agedashi Tofu you introduced to her. In fact, she introduced her boyfriend to it the last time we went for sushi. You continue to touch our lives, Joe. I know in mind that you are gone, but my heart is not ready to say good. We will see each other again, I know. Joe, I'll see you later.

From Kenny "Bruno" Sanchez
Joe, I will always remember the music you and I recorded in the studio you built out of the garage in your home. You were always expiermenting with new equipment and had quite a collection of exotic guitars, keyboards, bass, drums etc..
You were in an envious situation with more toys than anyone I knew.
You were a wizard with an ear for recording live music. The quality of your work impressed many professionals when I play it for them. You made it look easy and always left the tape rolling.
I sometimes swear because you left us at such a young age. But I am fortunate and must think on the positive that I had a good friend that shared the same interests, Music, Cars, Motorcycles, Bicycling etc..
When I moved to San Fancisco from Los Gatos in 2003 I wasnt able to visit and I would play the music we recorded together and after a few years I would stop by to visit and your hospitality was as good as ever.
Ariving I would hear the music playing from outside and a cold beer was waiting inside. Your house was like a museum with a vintage 71' Honda Elsinore (mint condition) in the front room. Vintage Les Paul, Jackson, Charvelle guitars mouted on the wall waiting to be played.
The backyard a big drive in garage with Sporty RX7 Mazdas, Big trucks, vintage motorcycles udergoing restoration, high end racing bicycles on and off road type.
If I had a beer to many you always offerd your couch for the night and in the morning always had hot coffe and managed to whip up something for breakfast.
I never could have put the music I had in me together without your professional help.
I have and always will bragged about my friend Joe Colletti in Campbell. I even had a good friend with the IRS..
I remember dining out any restraunt you always knew the owners and waitress/waiters by thier first name and they you. A red carpet was rolled out. When the check came I would have to argue to let me cover it or half.
We always had a big group of friends in Los Gatos on thursday night. We could convince people that we were the owners of the restraunt.
When I bought my condominum in Los Gatos you were at my door with tools in hand and helped me with drywall painting and final decor.
Your friends were number one and treated like family. I have and always will consider you a brother.
When they say "He who dies with the most toys wins.." You take the Cake!!
I will always consider myself very fortunate to have a friend named Joe Colletti and it helps me deal with your departure. But you are still alive everytime I play our music.
Your girlfriend "Yukari" loves you dearly and the loss of her best friend will be very difficult. But I think the best way to deal with this is to reflect on all the good times and thank God for friends like you.
When they say only the good die young I raise a toast to you Joe.
Check You Tube in a couple months and you will hear Jammin Joe Colletti on guitar living forever on the net. Ive always said if you want to live forever, create art. When you depart we still have your art. I cant play our music without breaking down and crying but I cry with a smile as the music plays..
Thanks Joe..You Rock!!
Your friend Bruno...

To Joe’s family: I’m so sorry for your loss.
I worked with Joe at Applied Materials. He was always one of my favorite people at Applied. He made me laugh every single time I talked to him – which is saying a lot when you consider that what we worked on together was budget analysis for the R&D tax credit – not usually the most fun and entertaining stuff. But Joe could make just about anything funny, even on the most stressful days. He was always positive and upbeat, and so generous about sharing his expertise. He was always there to support me, no matter how busy he was with his own work. I looked forward to our talks about his travels and adventures. Joe was one of those people who had the ability to seem like an old friend from the first time you meet him. I can’t say enough good things about him: hysterically funny, genuinely caring and nice, interesting and unique friend who always made me smile.
JC, I will miss you!

To my wonderful cousin Joseph,
We all send our deepest condolences to your family over your passing; you were much too young. Over thirty years ago my mother, father, myself and my husband took a trip to California to visit your mom, dad and the family. We had a wonderful time. It was so nice to see all of you again. It had been many years that we did not see you or your mom and sisters. We had seen your father from time to time when he came in for a visit. It was wonderful that we all got to see you after so many years when you came to Isa and Phil's 50th wedding anniversary party with your girlfriend and your dad. We were all so happy that you made the trip so we could all get to see you again. I remember your first words to me "Oh my god my dad said you sound and look just like your mother". I joked with you at the time and said I don't know if that is a compliment or not..ha ha. We had a good laugh over that. I am glad that my husband and children got a chance to meet you. All they kept saying all night was Joseph looks just like Uncle Albert. When we said good-by that night we both said hope to see you again sometime.I guess it will just not be in this lifetime. May you rest in peace and give my love to all my family in heaven.Tell them I look forward to the day when I can see them again. Tell them to have patience waiting for me to join them because lord knows I am not ready yet! You will be surely missed.

I am so sad. I met Joe twenty years ago when we both worked at High Vacuum Apparatus in Hayward. We had such a good time and shared so many laughs. We were in and out of touch over the years. In more recent years he came and visited us. He joined us for my daughter's Survivor Island Party. He was a good sport and helped me with the activities. We bbq'd Kasper's hot dogs and he got to float around in the pool. He joined my family on a trip to Santa Cruz. He really liked the Mystery Spot! On another visit he took me for a great motorcycle ride to Murphy's. I laughed so hard on that trip that I cried. I am crying today, but not for the same reason. Joe, the world isn't going to be the same without you in it. I miss you.

To the Colletti family, We are deeply saddend to hear of Joe's passing, please know that you are in our prayers during this difficult time.
In the early 80's Joe and I met through mutual friends and co-workers,we shared a passion for motorcycles and cars and were roomates for a time while he restored his Camaro in my garage.
We have a great picture of a very young Joe and I hanging in my shop, we're leaning against our bikes somewhere down the coast highway beyond Carmel, Joe in his red white and blue riding leathers topped off with "motocross boots" and his classic "Husqvarna" hat.
Still have the old Kawasaki I rode that day, might just dust it off and go for a ride this weekend.
Godspeed Joe.

My condolences to the Colletti family. I worked and goofed around with Joe during our years together at Applied Materials. He was a playful and eclectic soul and had a great sense of humor. His love for animals rivals mine and he will be greatly missed by all that knew him and had the honor to spend time with him.
