Merle Hahn
Resident of Saratoga
Passed away August 26, 2010 surrounded by his family at age 82. Beloved husband of Jeanell Hahn. Devoted father of Becky Young, Janet Freund, Michael Hahn and Lisa Szuter. Loving grandfather of Cassy, Kat, Brian, Katelyn, Kristen, Amy, Melissa, Jennie, Kyle and Stephanie. Preceded in death by six brothers.
A native of Preston, Minnesota. A retired Lt.Colonel from the United States Air Force, Merle served as a pilot in Korea and Vietnam later working for Lockheed until he retired in 1992.
Funeral Service Tuesday August 31 at 11:00 AM at Immanuel Lutheran Church Saratoga, CA. Interment immediately following at Madronia Cemetery, Saratoga.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church 14103 Saratoga Ave. Saratoga. Alameda Family Funeral Home Saratoga serving the family.

I met him a few times when i was a kid was a nice guy i knew his mom and dad and all his brothers . he was my 1st cousin. everybody in our family was proud of Merle.

Lisa and Family - I would have liked to have known your dad longer. During my last visit, he joyfully and openly shared his love and humor - relating to all his children and grandkids. I was especially struck by how his face would light up when he talked about the beauty of his wife, and the warm and hearty laugh he had that was soul-deep. We shared memorable moments from each of our lives, and talked about our dreams for our kids (even though his are already grown). From my view, Merle left the greatest gift he could - a loving family, joy of life and God, and an honorable legacy. He is, no doubt, sharing everything with his "most beautiful wife." God bless -

To the Hahn family, sorry for your loss, may GOD give you his PEACE, LOVE, and STRENGTH in this time of sorrow. I want to thank him for serving his country and helping keeping it SAFE and FREE for all who live here, he is a "HERO", may he R.I.P
