Bette Guardino Obituary
April 19, 1923 - Oct. 23, 2013
Resident of Fremont
Bette passed away in her sleep at home at the age of 90. She was an only child born to Norman and Lillian McQueen in Everett, WA. She moved to San Jose and at a very young age she met and married the love of her life, Sal. They spent the next 73 years enjoying each other, their family and building their ranching business.
Sal passed away in January 2013, leaving Bette with her loving family and friends; daughter Claudia (Earl) Flannigan, son Lynn and deceased son Robert's wife Valerie. She was loved by her grandchildren Rick Shareen), Mike, Carrie (Kevin), Chris (Wendy), Todd, Greg (Michelle) and Joe. Cherished by her great grandchildren Brittany, Jacob, Caitlin, Tristan, Jared, Madison, Justin and Jordan. Missed by Great-grandpuppy, Scotia. Bette now joins Sal, their son Robert and grandson Danny Flannigan to look over all of us until we're together again.
Donations may be made to her son's scholarship: The Robert S. Guardino Honor Scholarship Fund that aides students from farming families. Payable to: "University Foundation at Sacramento State c/o Valerie Guardino 705 Violet St., Modesto, CA 95356. Services will be held Tues., Oct. 29, 2013 at 11:30 a.m. in the Chapel of the Oaks at Oak Hill Funeral Home, 300 Curtner Ave., San Jose, CA 95125.

Bette, I am still in awe that you decided to stop by with Sal and Claudia early this year after 23 years of not seeing each other. I realize now it was a good-by visit. I will always love you and your beautiful smile.

You were such a wonderful sister! I cherish all the memories we made as children to adults. You were such a wonderful wife to my brother. I have been so blessed having you in my life. You will be greatly missed! I love you! You have been reunited with my brother. May you rest in peace.

I am so sorry for your great loss. May God give you all the strength and comfort you need to get you through this hard time. I am so thankful I got to see Aunt Bette a few weeks ago. She still had that beautiful smile that I will remember always. Not too long ago I found out we have a not so common thing in common, her Grandkids call her "Ma" and my Grandson calls me "Ma" too. Although, I didn't see Aunt Bette much in my adult years, I have childhood memories that I will cherish always. It's such a comfort knowing that God made it so that someday, we will be reunited with our love one's, never to be separated again. Hallelujah!

Ma, although you will be sorely missed, we find comfort that you passed peacefully and that you are now with Papa. We miss you so much and cherish all of our memories together over the years.
