Resident of Los Gatos
Bettie Watters, a resident of Los Gatos since 1959, passed away peacefully on Tuesday after a brief illness.
Bettie was born in Tempe AZ and moved to California during WWII to work at the Oakland Naval Yard. She was married to Hilton Louis Watters of Watsonville from 1946 until his death in 1990. From 1968 to 1989, she enjoyed a long career at Los Gatos High School.
Bettie is survived by her two daughters Susan Cheatham (Gordon) of Mariposa and Janet Rager of Los Gatos; four grandchildren - Jonathan Cheatham of Fremont, Jamie and Georgie Rager of Los Gatos, Nicholas Cheatham of Mariposa, and one great-grandchild Theora Cheatham. She is also survived by her sister Dollie L. Williams of Las Vegas NV, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Friends and family are invited to a visitation on Monday, July 1, 2013 from 10-11 a.m. and a funeral service at 11 a.m. at Chapel of the Hills at 615 North Santa Cruz Avenue in Los Gatos. Burial will follow at Los Gatos Memorial Park, 2255 Los Gatos-Almaden Road, San Jose CA.
