Robert D. (Bob) Thill, born June 21, 1912 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully in Cupertino on May 31, 2013 after a short illness. A longtime resident of San Carlos and Cupertino, Bob enjoyed his 100th birthday celebration last year. He came within three weeks of making his 101st - all good things must come to an end. Bob was the husband of the late Sophia Ramsay Thill and the proud father of the late Linda May Walker of Cupertino and Sue Thompson of Kent, Washington. He was the grandfather of Jim, Rob and Chris Walker of Cupertino and Steve Thompson and Terri Chase of Kent, Washington. Bob was the great-grandfather of Gunnar, Lauren, Aidan, Colin and Kiera Walker and Katie and Jack Chase. Bob is also survived by two son-in-laws, Jim Walker of Cupertino and Jack Thompson of Kent.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 22 at 2:00 p.m.at the Alameda Family, 12341 Saratoga-Sunnyvale Road, Saratoga. Donations in Bob's memory can be made to the Cupertino Rotary Endowment Foundation (CREF), PO Box 1101, Cupertino, CA 95015.
