Elizabeth Salveter Obituary

Elizabeth Marie Bayless Salveter
Aug. 19, 1931 - Feb. 1, 2013
Resident of Cupertino, CA
Betty was born in Evanston, Illinois, to Harold Stanley Bayless from New Zealand and Bessie Nilssen Bayless from Norway. Betty never had siblings or any other relatives in this country.
Betty attended school in Evanston and eventually got her B.A. in Education from Northwestern U., and an MSW from U. of Ill. in Chicago.
She met Stephen J. (Steve) Salveter in a Single Adults Group at the Evanston Methodist Church. They married in 1963 (49-3/4 years ago) and lived in Northbrook, Ill., with their daughter Nancy. They moved to Los Altos, CA, when Steve was transferred by IBM in 1972.
Betty was a Social Worker and Court Officer for Santa Clara County's Family Children Services, working with kids who were innocent victims.
She had a smile that would melt glaciers. She embraced as her own Steve's large and loving family. She loved to travel to Arizona to visit her Mother-in-law, Marie Davis Salveter, and her beloved daughter, Nancy Lynn Bruner, and precious grandsons Daniel Holt Bruner (18) and Owen Quinn Bruner (9).
Betty passed away in her sleep of Alzheimer's disease.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Peninsula Open Space Trust, 222 High Street, Palo Alto, CA 94301, or the donor's favorite charity.
