Hildegard Pfund, born in Altstatten Switzerland, Dec. 27th, 1922, passed away peacefully be with our Lord, on June 17th, 2013. She was 90 yrs. She is survived by her 2 sons, William and Norman Pfund and daughter-in-law Paula Pfund and 5 grandchildren (Kristen, Kelly, Kalise, Jacob and Jessica). Also by her sister Ruth Elmer-Laudan in Switzerland.
Hildegard was quite an independent and strong woman. She immigrated to California in her early 30"s, lived at the YWCA in San Francisco for awhile and worked at a book bonding company until she met her husband Konrad (passed away 6/29/11). William and Norman came thereafter and she became a stay at home mother for them. She was the planner and organizer of their family. She and Konrad enjoyed a few cruises, great road trips, lots of camping, European Travel and going to the Symphony and Ballet. She loved to entertain out of town house guests and always had a warm welcome to all! She loved the Summer time where she and Konrad gave numerous swim parties and BBQ's. She enjoyed swimming in their pool until late in her years!
She will be greatly missed by all who loved her! A Memorial Service will be held in honor of her on June 23, 2013 at 4:00 p.m. at Cupertino Union Church.
