Resident of Cupertino, CA Native of Glasgow, Scotland
Isabella Catherine McGee Smillie, age 89, passed away peacefully at her home in Cupertino on Wednesday, morning June 5, 2013. Isabella or Isa as she was know to many was born in Glasgow, Scotland on May 19, 1924 to Samuel and Julia (McGee) Reilly.
Isabella is preceded in death by her husband Frank Robertson Smillie. Isabella and Frank were married in Glasgow, Scotland on July 14, 1950 and at the time one of their favorite things was to go dancing at the "Denny Pally". Frank and Isabella along with their 4 children immigrated to Cupertino, California in December 1969. Isabella enjoyed her life in California with family and friends but she would always remain a Scottish Lassie at heart.
Isabella is survived by her brother Samuel Reilly of Lancashire, England. Mum will be deeply missed by her children John (Frankie) Smillie of Cupertino, Frank Smillie of Campbell, Derek Smillie of Cupertino and Valerie (Michael) Calvano of Santa Clara. She loved spending time with her six grandchildren Ian, Ryan, Jillian, Jack, Mikayla and Cole. Private services were held.
