Resident of Cupertino
Mary Rose MacKerrow passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at the age of 86 with her family by her side. Beloved wife of the late Donald E. MacKerrow. Preceded in death by her parents, Patrick and Mary Halligan. Born and raised in San Francisco, Mary Rose attended St. Monica School, Star of the Sea High School and Lone Mountain College.
She is survived by her loving children Stephen MacKerrow, M.D., Edward (Melinda) MacKerrow , Marie (John) Susa, Eileen (James) Sangster and Kathleen MacKerrow. She will be missed by her adoring grandchildren, Anna and Katherine Susa and Ryan Sangster. She is also survived by her loving brother, Patrick Halligan (Maydelle) of El Cerrito, and her loving niece and nephews.
Mary Rose was an avid reader, gardener, dog lover, and enjoyed playing bridge and getting together with her lifelong friends from San Francisco and the YLI group at St. Joseph of Cupertino. Mary Rose worked as an Enrolled Agent and was an active member of the Mission Society of Enrolled Agents.
She will always be remembered for her kindness, gentle spirit, warm smile, and beautiful blue eyes.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Rosary on Thursday, April 18, 2013 at 7:00p.m at LIMA & CAMPAGNA SUNNYVALE MORTUARY, 1315 Hollenbeck Ave., Sunnyvale. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, April 19, 2013 at 11:00a.m at St. Joseph of Cupertino Catholic Church, 10110 N. De Anza Blvd., Cupertino. Burial to follow at Gate of Heaven Catholic Cemetery, 22555 Cristo Rey Drive,. Los Altos.
Donations can be made in Mary Rose's name to Guide Dogs for the Blind, San Rafael, CA.

Many years I met Mrs. Mackerrow on the road when she was walking her dogs..they were always pleasant and enjoyable because could find out what the kids were doing wherever they were especially Steven..She was a lovely lady and in recent years missed seeing her..but I still keep thinking she is exercising her dogs..and that we will meet again soon..
I know you will miss her and will hold many fond memories.
My deepest sympathy to you all.
I am sorry I will be unable to attend the services..but will thinking of you all..

Mary Rose was a special friend and co-worker for over 10 years. Our lunches included her love for all of her children as she shared your adventures, the birth of Anna and more. She also shared her love for her dog and the Guide Dogs for the Blind importance to her. We both left the office in 1995 so it has been awhile. I am glad she was in my life. God bless all of her family.

Eileen and family my prayers are with you. When my Dad passed away in 2006 it helped me to look at old pictures we had of his life and celebrate and remember all the good times we shared. People we love are gifts we continue to share with others in the stories we share. Peace to your hearts ~
