Alice Flynn Obituary
Resident of San Jose
June 10, 1915-Nov. 7, 2010
Alice Marie (Silva) Flynn passed away Sunday, exactly seven years after the passing of her beloved husband, John Flynn. She was special to so many people, and we miss her. Alice was born in San Jose to Marie (Cardoza) and Manuel Silva, and grew up on a small farm on Trimble Road with her sister Dora and brother Francis (Sharky), both deceased. She met "Johnnie," they fell in love, and were married in 1938.
They were the owners of the Lil Ole Gift Shop in San Jose for many years.
Alice is survived by her four daughters, Nancy, Diane, Janet, and Sally, nine grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to a short Celebration Mass at Church of the Transfiguration Saturday, Nov. 13, at 1:00 PM, 4325 Jarvis Ave., San Jose. No flowers please. Donations in Alice's name are appreciated to Hospice of the Valley, 4850 Union Ave., San Jose, CA 95124. Arrangements by DARLING & FISCHER.

My dearest grandmother-as I read all the beautiful things written in the guest book it bring's a smile to my face! As I know that you are in a wonderful place with the love of your life. I know the 2 of you are in heaven smiling down on all of us! What a legacy you have left behind! I thank both of you for the awesome memories that you have given me! I will never forget either of you and the great childhood memories we shared! I was very lucky to have both of you! You are loved and missed very much! I look at your artwork daily and I can see you painting in heaven!I love you and pass a kiss over to grandpa and also grandma Clark.

Hi Mom, this morning I placed your ashes along side Dad's, and I added a surprise for each of you. Are you two square dancing again, and have you picked up the paint brush once again, Mom? Thank you for all you gave the four of us during the many stages of our lives. We are kinder, more thoughtful of others, generous too, because of your example. You are loved and so missed.

I enjoyed meeting, working and befriending Alice. I ofcourse only knew her in her later years but enjoyed her fiestyness and spunk. She was a sweet heart and I will miss her very much!
