Ann Hogue Obituary

Ann Seaman Hogue

Resident of Cupertino

11-5-1917 - 9-14-2010

A resident of the Santa Clara Valley for over fifty years, Ann passed away peacefully on September 14, 2010, at age 92. She had a gift of encouragement and wisdom and was dearly loved by many friends and her family, which includes seven grandchildren.

Ann was born to Herbert and Mary Elizabeth Seaman in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. A graduate of the University of Pittsburgh., she worked in Berkeley during WWII when she met and married Lawrence H. Hogue, a lieutenant in the Navy. The Hogue children, Robert, Herbert, and Cherry, were born when Larry worked for Dole Pineapple Company in San Jose and they lived near the Rose Garden. In 1955, Larry was transferred to Salem, Oregon, where Ann had a happy life raising children and making friends. When Larry was transferred back to San Jose in 1963, the Hogue's made their new home in Saratoga, where they lived for thirty years. Ann was an avid golfer and active member of Kappa Kappa Gamma, the PEO sisterhood, and the Presbyterian Church of Los Gatos. In 1992, Larry and Ann moved to the Forum, a retirement community in Cupertino, where Ann continued her art and writing, traveled, and enjoyed many close friendships.

The memorial service will be at the Presbyterian Church of Los Gatos at 16575 Shannon Road on Saturday, October 2, at 1:00 pm followed by a reception. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Ann Seaman Hogue to her church or to a favorite charity. For more information visit the http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/annhogue website.
