Audrey Clark Obituary
Audrey N. Clark
Resident of San Jose
Born in Des Moines, IA on February 27, 1923, our beloved mother passed peacefully on Oct 6, 2010. She is predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Lowell S. Clark. Raised in Chicago, she met her husband to be in high school. They married in 1946 relocated to Southern California to settle in San Bernardino for Lowell's career and to be near his family. They remained in So Cal for twenty years where they started their family and became active members of church and community groups. In 1966 a corporate transfer moved the family to San Jose where they quickly established themselves again in church, social and community service endeavors for the next forty plus years.
Audrey will best be remembered as a talented homemaker, devoted wife, loving mother and cherished grandmother. Like her husband, Audrey was an active community servant. In San Bernardino she was active in church and community activities including PEO, a philanthropic and educational organization. Audrey also served as Board President of the Home of Neighborly Services, a program which provided educational after school activities for children. In San Jose she was again an active member of PEO and Stone Church Presbyterian Women's groups.
Audrey is survived by son Tom Clark (Mary Lynn), Redlands, CA, and daughters Janet Pfeiffer (Jim), Los Gatos, CA and Carol Thomas, Lodi, CA. She was the grandmother of five wonderful grandchildren: Jeff and Sarah Clark (Michael), Johanna Pfeiffer, and Calin (Meg) and Lindsay Thomas. She was delighted to welcome and embrace her first great-grandchild earlier this year, Catherine Clark Thomas. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Helen Larson, Redlands, CA, sister Mary Kenny (Jim), Indianapolis, IN, and many nieces and nephews.
Please join the family for a Celebration of Life service at Stone Church of Willow Glen, Sat. Oct 30, 2:00pm.
