Casi Ann Higgins

Riley

Resident of San Jose

Feb. 15, 1963 - Jan. 6, 2011

Casi Ann Higgins Riley passed into the loving arms of our Lord on Thursday, January 6, 2011. She will always be remembered for her vibrant personality and devotion to her family and friends.

Casi was born in San Jose, CA, graduated from Leigh High School and earned a degree in public relations/communications from CSU Chico. Casi was a dedicated and loving mother to her son, Austin Cole Riley.

Casi enjoyed serving 3rd generation Italian cooking to her friends and family. She was currently employed by Dream Dinners in Los Gatos. When she was not working or helping those around her, she enjoyed spending time with her very close-knit family and friends.

Casi is survived by her son, Austin; devoted parents Ron and Carol Higgins (of San Jose); loving brother and sister-in-law Scott and Jill Higgins (of Gilroy); beloved nieces Lilly and Alexis Higgins (of Gilroy). She is survived by her two grandmother's Ruby Higgins (of Saratoga) and Violet O'Donnell (of San Jose); and numerous extended family and friends.

All who were fortunate enough to have her in their lives will miss her vivacious personality, love of life, her kindness and endless love for her son and immediate family.

Friends and family are invited to attend a rosary service on Thursday, January 13th at 7PM at Chapel of the Hills 615 No. Santa Cruz Ave, Los Gatos, CA. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, January 14th at 12PM at St. Mary's Church in Los Gatos. Burial to follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in San Jose.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Avon Breast Cancer Walk (www.avonwalk.org) Austin Riley Benefit Memorial Fund at Wells Fargo Bank 15543 Union Ave., Los Gatos, CA 95032.

Beautiful Casi, I miss you so much and I think of you every single day. I know you are in heaven making pasta with your Aunt Mary and having a good time with Papa Bob and Papa Art. Don't give him any artichokes! We love you and you are forever in our hearts.

Ronnie, Carol, Austin, Scott & family,

I'm so very sorry for your loss. Casi always had a special way of making everyone she sees feel special & important.

I am comforted with the memories of my family coming down for visits, staying with Aunt Ruby, & seeing Carol & Casi as they stopped by on their lunch break, just to greet us after our long road trip from Seattle... Casi had an amazing gift for making our young kids at the time, feel so loved...

Thank you for being you, Casi. Thank you for your kind words to me on fb in my darkest hour... It meant so much to me.

May God continue to bless you and guide you through your loss.

I also went to Lone Hill, Union and Leigh with Casi. When I met her in second grade, I was new to the area. Casi was one of the first friends I made there. We were in brownies together, and had many a slumber party at her house, my house and Heidi Derksens house. She was always so sweet and kind. I am deeply sorry for your loss. The world has lost a beautiful soul.

I was so stunned to hear the news of Casi. I went to Lone Hill Elementary with her, and we were in Brownie Girl Scouts together. I remember going to her home on a few occasions with our Brownie troop to work on a cooking badge, Casi's Mom lead the cooking class. It was so much fun, I will always cherish that fond memory! May the Lord watch over you all-

Casi,
You are sorely missed here at the Dream Dinners Store in Los Gatos. Your vivacious personality and caring nature is what everyone remembers you as. I will miss the good times we had.....whether it was "beer and pizza" after work, or chatting about life, family, kids or relationships while we worked. You were such a wonderful Mom to Austin and you loved him so much...you always told me that he was a good kid and you were proud of him, and looking forward to him going to college.
Carol, Austin, Evonne and the rest of the Higgins Family: My thoughts are of you, My prayers are for you, and my heart is with you.

What a wonderful light you are to the world. I will never forget our discussions about good cop bad cop with the kids (of course you're the good cop). You were a second mother to my daughter and she loves you for all that you are and the bond that you shared. You raised an amazing son that I will care for and be here for whatever he may need. The bond between you two is admirable. The kids would come home to tell me the happenings of the day and it would always be about love and laughter. I am happy to have known you and blessed that my daughter was so cared for in your presence. You have everything now, may you rest in God's arms and be at true peace. Until we meet again...

Hi Mamma Casi,
I'm sooo..... missing your love ,contagious laughter, your generosity with friends and family, your excitement and your funny expressions on your face. I will always laugh "out loud" about what happened the day we first met. I will always be grateful how you showed me how to love a son/child "more" than anyone might imagine.

I will love you forever, peace

Casi, I remember meeting you as a customer at Dream Dinners. You convinced me to work there and I was so happy to be blessed with such a positive, energetic, loving person to have as a mentor. You were always worrying about taking care of everyone, making sure that we all had what we needed. I know that you will be doing the same thing for your son, family and close friends from Heaven. Your warmth and compassion will live on forever. I will miss you. Heather Kiuttu

Dear Sweet Casi,

We still can't believe you won't be at the front door to greet us with the special way you would say hello or be able to plan parties or shopping sprees or look at all the fun stuff you would buy for Lilly and Alexis.

We had so much fun with you, Casi. I remember how you enjoyed every single minute in Hawaii and how we were talking about going again later this year.

Your memory will always live in our hearts. Everything that is good about you we can see in Austin. We were so fortunate to have had you in our lives.

We miss you and love you very very much. Rest in peace Sweet Casi and until we meet again, please know that we will help your beloved Mom and Dad as they guide Austin through his life.

May God bless Carol, Ronnie, Scott, Jill, Lilly, Alexis, Ruby, Violet and all of the family and friends of this beautiful woman.

All of love always,

Manny, Sharon and Greg
