Donald Bautista Obituary

Donald Bautista, Sr.

Resident of Mountain View

Born in Macotera, Spain, in 1915, Donald immigrated to California with his family at the age of six. He passed away peacefully at home on November 16, 2010, at the age of 95. He is survived by his wife, Gertrude, of 72 years and their seven children, Marlene (Ernie), Don (Alice), Paul (Shari), Alan (Nancy), Carl (Karen), Sharon and Cynthia, fourteen grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren.

At the age of thirteen, Donald worked in the fields and orchards in the "Valley of Hearts Delight" helping to support his mother and siblings after his father passed away.

He served in the US Army during WWII. Upon returning home, he became a carpenter and helped to build many homes in the Santa Clara Valley. He loved to be in his garden and always shared his abundant bounty.

Donald was an honorable man who devoted his life to his wife, his entire family and his many friends. He touched many lives and will forever be in our hearts.

To the Bautista family, sorry for your loss, may GOD give you his LOVE, PEACE, and STRENGTH in this time of sorrow. Wow 95yrs. GOD gave him alot of years. I want to thank him for serving his country to help keep us SAFE and FREE, he is a HERO and always will be. I am glad that he made it back safely to start a family of his own. Alot of people take life for granted and don't cherish life, but people who have been through alot cherish life to it's fullest and does something with the life GOD gave them. He is RESTING IN PIECE with GOD and that is the best person to rest with. <3

I just accidently saw the obituary for Mr. Bautista. I rented a duplex from he and his wife for about five years many years ago. They were the BEST landlords I have ever had and wonderful, warm people. I will never forget him. One time I wanted to paint my kitchen and he just asked what color (yellow) and he came and painted it. When I moved he didn't even come to look to make sure I had cleaned the duplex well. He said he had lived next door to me for so long he knew the duplex would be clean so he wrote me a check right then and there. My heartfelt sympathy to all of the family. Evelyn Hanson
