Don had such an amazing look on life with a great sense of humor. An avid fisherman and great hiker he took a trek with my dad into Pate Valley, the back country of Yosemite. He will definitely be missed. I can picture he and my dad side by side fly fishing up in heaven. They are probably telling some fantastic stories.

Don shared his love of backpacking with me 25 years ago when he pointed out on a map of Yosemite one of his favorite backpacking destinations; Ten Lakes Basin.

Over the years I have been back there several times taking friends, Boy Scout Troops and my own daughter. Although I don't go anymore (backpack got too heavy, ground got too dirty, air got to thin, whatever), my friend takes his friends every Labor Day weekend.
So thank you Don, just as your legacy lives on in a beautiful strong family, although you are gone, your love of the outdoors still lives on through others.
Your neighboer of 36 years, Stan Moriya

Papa,

I love you and miss you so much. It is strange going over to the house, expecting to hear you tinkering away in the garage or to see you outside futzing with the wood pile. But I then have to remind myself that you have moved on.

While the house may be empty, know that G-ma "Reen" is being looked after. We hold the memory of you in our hearts and cling to those happy moments to help ease the pain we feel.

Lv you Papa,
Britt
