Frank Fisher Obituary

Frank Clay Fisher

Resident of Los Altos

Sept. 10, 1919-Nov.29, 2010

Frank Clay (Bud) Fisher was born in Suffern, New York, to Frank Clay Fisher and May (Eberling) Fisher. He met his future wife, Alice P. Collins, while working in New York. After his discharge from the army, Frank settled in California and worked for Waters Motors in San Francisco.

His career led him to Chrysler Corporation where he worked in a number of positions from West Coast district manager to corporate vice president for marketing and investments. He is a legend at Chrysler, where no one ever said anything but kind words about him. People still talk about his instinctive ability to walk into a dealership and diagnose what needed to be done. He was responsible for putting many of Chrysler's largest and best dealers into business. After retiring in 1978, he enjoyed woodworking, and hiking miles in the Santa Cruz Mountains. He also enjoyed telling the stories of his youth in New York, his travels as a teenager "riding the rails", working with his uncle's teams of horses, boxing (as an amateur), and driving buses in New York City. But foremost he enjoyed the company of family and friends, especially over a dry martini. His open and friendly personality attracted many friends over the years.

Frank is predeceased by his wife and survived by his three children and their spouses - James and Barbara Fisher of Lake Oswego, OR, Eileen and Jeff Cuzzi of Los Altos, CA, Richard Fisher and Andrea Watts of Los Altos, CA, his nieces Pat Sedlacek and Debbie Spillane, his nephew John Nanry, seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and many friends. He will be missed by all.
