Glenn Griggs Obituary
Glenn Gary Griggs July 10, 1918 - Jan. 20, 2013 Resident of San Jose On Jan. 20th, 2013 at the age of 94, Glenn Griggs, passed away quietly at home with family and neighbors beside him. He had been a resident of San Jose since 1965. He was born in the Germania Township, 1918. His family moved to Forsyth, Montana where he and his three other siblings grew up. It was there that he met Goldie Belle Wills, the girl he would remain married to until her death in 2002. The two eloped, woke up a justice of the peace and were married in 1939. Glenn enlisted in the Navy at the beginning of World War II and continued to serve his country for the next 24 years. When he retired from the military, he worked for Kaiser Hospital in Santa Clara. After retiring for good, he shared his life his family, loved to golf, never met a neighbor he couldn't fix something for and always had a joke and a cigar for anyone who dropped by. He is preceded in death by his wife, Goldie Belle Griggs in 2002,and his oldest son, Gregory Lynn Griggs in 2012. He is survived by sons: Dennis Griggs and wife Diana of Maine and Bryan Griggs of Idaho - daughters: Rosemary Cook and husband John of Idaho, Brenda White and husband Chip of Florida, Glenda Griggs and husband Gilbert, daughter-in-law Jeanie Griggs, Fern Staton and husband George - all of Ca: two sisters, Fern Lawler and Loma Kramer and a boatload of grandkids, great grandkids and great-great grandkids. As you read this, we ask that you take a minute, offer up a military salute and wish him well on his next tour of duty. A gathering for family and friends will be held on Feb. 2nd. 1 p.m. at the house they called home for so many years.
