Gordon McClelland Obituary

and with a wink, he said goodbye. Gordon Taylor

"Mac" McClelland

Resident of San Mateo

Passed away on December 2, 2010 surrounded by his loved ones. Mac was born in Utah on March 8, 1922, and moved to San Francisco as an infant. Upon graduation, he joined the U.S. Navy and fought in both World War II and the Korean War before returning as a decorated veteran.

Mac is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mary, and their two children Lynne and Kerry. Following the Korean War, Mac and his family moved to San Mateo where they have resided.

Mac was a person we all wish to emulate. A devoted family man who was both patient and honest who led by example in his own quiet manner.

Mac was a life long Niners and Giants fan and was thrilled to attend the Superbowl and watch the Giants win the World Series. But Mac was most happy with a fishing pole in hand while camping along the Klamath River with family and friends. He was active in the wild trout catch and release program.

His wife Mary, daughter Lynne, son Kerry, daughter-in-law Susan and grandchildren Brian, Eric, Caitlin, Lisa and Kevin as well as sisters-in-law Ellen and Patricia, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins will miss him and are grateful that he was a large part of our lives.

The family extends our utmost thanks to his neighbors and friends as well as Pathways Hospice. Funeral services will be private. ALL COUNTY

Gordon will be dearly remembered and grately missed as we sit around the camp cook stove after breakfast in Dillon Camp on the Klamath River in October by his longtime camping and fishing friends Don & Gwen, Jack & Betsey, Marvin, Mike & Jennifer, Joel and Doug. A very fine gentelman has gone on to his reward. May he Rest In Peace.
