Helen Behman Obituary

Helen Malkin Behman Passed away peacefully in San Jose on November 25, 2007, surrounded by her loving family. Helen was born in Okalahoma City on September 7, 1917, to Jennie and John Malkin. She and her parents and older brother, Sam, moved from Okalahoma to Toledo, Ohio where her sister, Lee, and brother, Bill, were born. Helen and Lee moved to Los Angeles from Chicago and their parents followed soon after. In August 1951 Helen met and married her beloved husband, David who pre-deceased her. Helen worked for twenty years for A&M Records as one of its earliest employees, a job that provided her with much satisfaction over the years. Helen and David were blessed with a large family and they are survived by all of their children, Peter Behman and daughter-in-law, Jayne, Lesley Neiman, Barbara Sprenger and son-in-law, Ken Meshke, Miriam Brody and son-in-law, Steve Brody, Harriet Behman, Larry Behman and daughter-in-law, Gloria. Her grandchildren are, Cassie Sprenger and husband, John Glass, Aaron Behman and partner, Richard Pettyplace, Polly Sprenger, and husband, James Weir, Adam Behman, Charlie Sprenger, Sarah Meshke, Alex Clancy, Seth Ettinger, Jennie Neiman, Jenna Clancy, Peter Ettinger, Max Neiman, and Ryan Brody. Helen's great grandchildren are Beckett Glass, Milly Weir, and Jed Weir. Helen is also survived by her sister, Lee Weiss, her brother, Bill Malkin and sister-in-law, Bernice, and her sister-in-law, Annette Malkin as well as her nephews, John Weiss and John Malkin, and her nieces Emily Puro and Diana Michlmayr, and their families. Services are at Mount Sinai Memorial Park, on November 28, 2007, at 2:00 PM, with the family gathering thereafter at Rae and Ben Berger's home in Valley Village. The family requests that instead of flower's donations be made to the MS Foundation and the Neurofibromatosis Foundation (NF, Inc.).
