Hussain Ali Abuel-Saud

Obituary Condolences

ABUEL-SAUD, Hussain Ali-- passed away peacefully at age 44, on November 26, 2002. A native of Saudi Arabia, Hussain was born on May 21, 1958 in Qatif, Saudi Arabia. He moved to the Bay Area 26 years ago. Hussain had a desire to be educated in the United States. At the early age of 17 he arrived in the Bay Area and attended the College of San Mateo. He then attended U.C. Riverside where he learned the English language.
After two years he transferred to S.F. State University where he earned a degree in International Relations. He actively participated in the Stanford University Continuing Studies Program. At the time of his death he was preparing to begin the MBA program at Santa Clara University.
Hussain was a member of the World Affairs Council of Northern California and an alumna of the San Francisco State University International Relations Department. He was a member of Ladera Oaks Swim and Tennis Club and was a referee for the American Youth Soccer Organization for seven years. He was a Senior Computer Consultant at Object Focus in Cupertino at the time of his death.
Hussain married Gay Batistich of Los Altos Hills on May 6, 1989. Together they have four children, Sarah, Sophia, Sonia and Zachary. Hussain also leaves behind his mother, Fatimah Nasrullah, six sisters, two brothers and many extended family members in Saudi Arabia.
Hussain enjoyed the game of soccer whether in the yard with his children or on the field. He was also an incredible cook. He will be cherished for his love of family and friends, his generous nature and genuine goodness of heart.
Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service to be held Tuesday, December 3, at 10:30 a.m. at Nativity Church, 210 Oak Grove Avenue in Menlo Park. The family respectfully requests no floral gifts, contributions may be made to an educational fund for Sarah, Sophia, Sonia and Zachary Abuel-Saud through Washington Mutual in Menlo Park in the name of the (Abuel-Saud Family Fund). Arrangements are under the direction of WOODSIDE CHAPEL OF CRIPPEN AND FLYNN.
