James Baker Obituary

James Lee Baker

Resident of Campbell

Aug. 22, 1934Oct. 31, 2010

James L. Baker went to sleep peacefully on Sunday from a prolong illness. He was a giant man who loved his family and was generous to all. He was a mentor and always shared his knowledge with everyone. Jim especially loved the Giants, but did not get to see them become World Champions.

Jim was born in Hazelhurst, Mississippi. Early in his adult life he served as a full time minister and at their World Headquarters in Brooklyn, N.Y. While there, he met his future wife, Irene Lasco. They were married on January 23rd 1960. Jim and Irene raised four girls: Angelina, Irene Etta, Virginia, and Heather. Jim was a real estate agent and later became a roofing contractor.

Jim is survived by two brothers and two sisters: John Baker, Mary Burton, Martha Scott, and Harry Gregory. He had ten grandchildren: Tommy, Tony, Jessica, Erica, Nick, Francisco, Travis, Big Mike, Gordon, and Catherine. He had 3 great-grandchildren: Jayden, Lilyana, and Tara. He loved his two nephews, Joey and Stevie and treated them like sons. Jim is also survived by many other relatives that he loved and care+d for. Jim will be missed by all.

Jim believed and loved his God. He now rests peacefully in His memory.

A life celebration for Jim is going to be held in Morgan Hill on Saturday, November 6th at 4:00. If you would like to attend and share with us in our celebration, please contact Steve, 408 593-7664.

To the Baker family, sorry for your loss, may GOD give you his LOVE, PEACE, and STRENGTH in this time of sorrow. He is with GOD now walking on streets of gold with all the ANGELS that GOD has with him. He did see the SAN FRANCISCO GIANTS win all the games to get to the WORLD SERIES and win that as well, he just had a better view than us and all who sat in the stands to watch the SAN FRANCISCO GIANTS win the WORLD SERIES finally. And when GOD gives him a job to do here on earth he will fly by and check in on his family and friends to make sure all is fine with the loved ones he left behind. But we are all on borrowed to our familys and when GOD calls us home he gives us all that is promised to us and more. He is getting to see what we can't even imagine what it looks like in HEAVEN, there is a price to pay to see HEAVEN but it's a small price to pay to live for ever in eternity with JESUS CHRIST our SAVIOR and LORD. He is RESTING IN PEACE. <3
