James Green Obituary

James R. Green, MD

Resident of San Jose

Jim was born in 1920 and graduated from high school in Glenns Ferry, idaho in 1938. In 1942 he graduated from Carroll College in Helena, Montana and in the same year enrolled at the Saint Louis University School of Medicine, earning his internship, he joined the Public Health Service and was assigned to a hospital in New Orleans. While attending Saint Louis University he married Alene May Rhode who passed away in 2006. In 1951 he transferred to the U.S. Coast Guard and was stationed at Governor's Island in Oakland. He was named Senior Medical Officer in charge of the Base hospital. In 1954 he left government service and began a private medical practice in San Jose. In 1968 he served as President of the Medical Staff at O'Connor Hospital. Jim was very active in the sport of Trapshooting. in the year 2000 he was honored by being inducted into the California Trapshooters Hall of Fame. Jim retired from his medical practice in 1992 and continued to live in San Jose until his passing.

Visitation at 9:30 AM and a Mass at 10:00 AM on Friday Nov. 12,2010 at St. Martin of Tours, 200 O'Connor Dr San Jose. Entombment Santa Clara Mission Centery Condolences may be offer at www.Limafamilysc.com.
