Bailey, Sr.

73, passed Sept. 26, 2010, peacefully at home in Weaverville, CA with his wife and eldest son nearby. Jay was born 7/27/37 at the family home in Trimountain, Adams Twp., Houghton, Michigan. After finishing Royal Oak High Jay graduated from the USNR-R U.S. Naval Training Center, Great Lakes, Ill. in Jan. 1957 as an Electrician's Mate P 3rd Class. After his honorable discharge Nov. '62. Jay moved to Phoenix, AZ where he started his career as an electrical/mechanical engineer. After his boys were born, the family moved to San Jose where he worked for several Silicon Valley companies. Jay loved fishing from his days as a boy on the shores of Lake Superior to his days of fishing with his sons and grandsons all around the Trinity area. He loved taking the family camping, waterskiing, fishing, and to Good Guy's Hot Rod Shows. He coached little league baseball in the West Valley/Moreland district 1974-1981. He belonged to E Clampus Vitus, Chapter No. 62, and the Moose Family Center of Lewiston, CA. Jay is survived by his wife Barbara Walker Bailey; sons J.K. of Morgan Hill and Douglas of Gilroy, and his three grandsons Tyler, Colin and Alec. Service on Nov. 5th at the No. CA Veterans Cemetery in Igo, CA 2:00 p.m. We will gather at 1:00 p.m. at Allen & Dahl Funeral Chapel on 3655 Eureka Way, Redding, where the Patriot Guards will escort us to the cemetery. A celebration of Jay's life will be held immediately after the service at the Hilton Garden Inn, 5050 Bechelli Lane, Redding, Calif.
