McCloskey

Resident of Sunnyvale

Born October 25, 1926 in Havre, Montana, John found rest on Thursday, October 21, 2010. He is preceded by his brother Tom in 1997, wife, Betty, and daughter, Barbara Hook (Jeff), both in 2006. He is survived by son Jim (Eva) of Cupertino, son John (Jeanine) of San Jose, son Kevin of Sunnyvale, and daughter Becky Perry (Wes) of San Jose, nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and sister Lenore Screen.

John served in the Marine Corps and attended University of Montana, Missoula. He and Betty came to California, married, and he went to work for Dalmo Victor and Textron, then retired to run Oregon Technical Products. He was a member of the Sunnyvale Elks Lodge #2128.

Family and friends will gather for a memorial celebration and a final farewell on Saturday, the 30th.

I have very fond memories of John walking by the house with an unlit cigar securely fixed between his teeth. He was always a favorite among the kids of the neighborhood.
