Julie Rodenberg Obituary

Julie Rodenberg

Resident of San Jose

78, passed peacefully October 26th after a long battle with cancer. Preceded in death by her mother, Consuelo Downing, whom she lovingly cared for at home until Consuelo died at 96, and her brother Bill Downing. Survived by children Barry (Sharlene), Stephen (Jen), Gordon (Astrid), and Karla (Matt) Ryan, and their father, Harry. Grandmother to Evan, Leann, Erik, Jacqueline, Dylan, Kevin, Lauren, and Andrew.

Julie was hard working, selfless, a great cook and an amazing mother. Despite the demands of raising a family alone, Julie encouraged her children in their activities with her presence and passion.

Always scanning TV cooking shows for new recipes, Julie enjoyed cooking - especially for her grown family when they visited. Julie was independent, strong, and a fighter. She lived far beyond initial diagnoses, stubbornly proving doctors wrong time and again. We were blessed to have the extra time together.

We love you Mom! 2 Cor. 5:1-8
