Margaret S. Lamb

Resident of San Jose

1922 - 2010

Passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, September 16, surrounded by her husband and family.

Margaret was born in Council Bluffs, Iowa. She grew up in Omaha Nebraska, where she graduated from Cathedral High School and earned a BSC from Creighton University. After graduating, she worked at the Department of Education in San Francisco where she met the love of her life, the dashing Captain E. David Lamb Jr., to whom she was married for 60 years. After traveling the world as an army wife, she settled down in San Jose to raise her family. She was active in the 9 Hole Golf Group at Saratoga Country Club and played regularly at Moffett Field. She played in the Queen of Apostles Church Bridge Club and enjoyed early Mass and breakfast with the "Breakfast Club". She loved playing the piano and enjoyed attending the Symphony and the local Theater.

Margaret is survived by her loving husband Dave, her sons Patrick Lamb and Michael Lamb, daughters Peggy Lamb Walke and husband Gerald, and Erin (Mary) Lamb and close family friend Jill Welton, the grandchildren she adored, Ryan Walke and Cody Walke, her nephews William Sullivan and Terrence Sullivan, and her devoted caregiver, Ruth (Rut) Teklehaimanot.

Friends and family are invited to a funeral mass celebrating her life on Wednesday, September 22, at 10:30 a.m. at Queen of Apostles Church, 4911 Moorpark Ave in San Jose. Burial to follow at Santa Clara Mission Cemetery. Queen of Apostles Church 253-7560.
