Maria Blasa Macias-Santana de Guerra Obituary
On November 9, 2012, Maria Blasa Macias-Santana de Guerra, at 84 years of age passed into her eternal rest with our Lord Jesus Christ. Born on February 3, 1928 in El Limon, Jalisco Mexico, to loving parents Matias Macias and Isabel Santana, she was the youngest of 8 children. Upon marrying Fausto Guerra-Gonzalez, they came to the U.S. in 1946 and settled in Santa Clara County. Mom's 37-year career in the canneries led her from line worker, to floorlady and on to become the first female operator of the labeling and palletizer machines, for which she was featured in a magazine article. Later as a single mom, she became a licensed beautician, pre-school teacher's aide and developed a skilled hobby seeking antiques and collectibles. She proudly became a U. S. citizen in 1999 at the age of 71. Mom leaves a legacy of 4 children, Joe Guerra, Art Guerra, Sylvia Venechanos and Yolanda Guerra-Bussolini; 7 grandchildren, Marco Guerra, Cecelia Marshall, Joey Guerra, Curtis Guerra, Brian Bussolini, Brandon Bussolini and Bradley Bussolini; 7 great-grandchildren, Spencer Marshall, Annalise Marshall, Keira Marshall, Wyatt Guerra, Morgan Maria Guerra, Hayden Guerra, and Baby Bussolini coming soon. Her large extended family in Mexico, San Francisco and the Los Angeles area, as well as many dear friends are remembered at this time as well. We keep close to our hearts many happy memories of our mother for her sense of humor, hard-work, great cooking, wonderful garden, and her giving ways. Mom will be interned in a private burial at Santa Clara Mission Cemetery. We will be hosting a "Celebration of Life" get-together for family and friends at a date to be determined.
