To the Montellano family you have lost a wonderful women it sounds like. I am glad she was a women of GOD and she is at PEACE and home with JESUS. We are all on borrowed time till God calls us home, so that we can live in our huge house and gold streets that are in HEAVEN. May GOD give you PEACE in this time of sorrow. We are all born with a GUARDIAN ANGEL and now you all have your very special ANGEL that was here on earth. Mrs. Montellano will live forever in your HEARTS for generations to come. May she rest in peace.

Maria, you were not only our very good friend but you were also family.
You touched so many people and each has become a better person because of your unselfish heart. You never forgot the meaning of "friendship", you were the living expression of it.
You were an angel sent from heaven to share God's unfailing love for His children. Thank you for loving us each time we saw each other as if it was the first time...we never skipped a beat!
You will be missed so much by us and everyone you helped along the way but the heavens rejoice and the angels sing because you are home. You don't have to "Imagine" anymore what it would be like to be in the presence of the God who loves you so much.
Now you know that everything we know about our God is 100% true.
Pray for us, watch over us and thank you for being the strong woman that you were. You inspired other girls and women to respect themselves and give themselves value and never settle for anything less than they deserved.
Thank you for being an inspiration to many.
May the Glory of the Lord shine upon your face always.

Our deepest sympathy to the entire family of Maria Elena Montellano. This was very shocking news to come across over the weekend. Though I did not know Maria Elena on a personal level, I was a neighbor of her bother, Patricio Sagon, for many years and in turn invited to a couple of family events. You could clearly see how Maria was that special mother, sister, Tia and friend that fused the meaning of family and community. No words can describe the sense of loss all are feeling. Our prayers are with your family.

She was a true leader in our community. She set an awesome example of what hard work, dedication and love of Family and Friends can accomplish. Loyalty is a word not practiced by enough people in this world and she personified it.

My heart goes out to the family of Maria. I knew Maria as a youth in High school and used to hang around sometimes with Maria,Esther and Albert. I also attended High school with Maria's brother Lenard. We wrestled for the same team as youth's. I will Miss Her kindness and infectious laugh!:) May God comfort your whole family. It was an honor to have known both Maria and Leonardo during this life time of mine. I was blessed by their lives.

My co-workers and I have been eating lunch at Maria Elena's for over 20 years. We got to watch the restaurant and Maria herself become very successful but never lose the common touch. She'll be dearly missed by so many of us who greatly enjoyed her restaurant and her gracious presence.

Although I live in Las Vegas, NV now, I was browsing the San Jose Mercury News when I came across Maria Elena's obituary. I am so sad to hear of her passing... she, and the family restaurant was always a favorite when visiting my hometown of Milpitas.
Her life, her talents and generosity in the community will not be forgotten.
Prayers to all of you... she will be missed.
