Raymond Carlo Serrato

Resident of San Francisco

87, passed away peacefully in his home on Sunday, January 9, 2011. Ray was born in San Francisco on August 26, 1923. He attended Balboa High School and served his country during WWII in the US Army Medical Corp. He owned a Barber Shop on B Street in San Mateo for more than 40 years.

He is predeceased by his siblings Charles, Angelo, & Eva; as well as brother-in-law, Albert Callori. Ray was the beloved husband of Maria with whom he spent 54 wonderful years; loving father to his three children: John (Marylouise), Albert (Claire), & Cathy (John Sarti); a dedicated grandfather to his seven grandchildren: Giancarlo, Adriana, Marco, Jessica, Scott, & Ryan, & John Sarti; as well as devoted brother-in-law to Evelyn & Anita. His sense of humor brought a smile to all who knew him. He will be deeply missed.

Visitation will be held Thursday at 4:00PM and the rosary also on Thursday at 7:30PM all at Valente Marini Perata & Co., 4804 Mission St., SF. The funeral mass will be on Friday at 10:30AM at St. Elizabeth's church, corners of Somerset and Wayland Sts., SF. Committal to follow at Gold Gate National Cemetery in San Bruno.
