Richard E. Collart
Resident of Palo Alto
Jun. 16, 1938-Dec. 25, 2010
Dick was the beloved husband of Margee, wonderful father to Diane, Cindy, Todd, and Paul, and grandfather to 8 grandchildren.
Born in Burbank, CA, Dick received his BSEE from Colorado State Univ. and his MBA from Santa Clara Univ. Dick worked for over 35 years at Lockheed including Chief Systems Engineer for the Hubble Space Telescope and then Program Manager for GBFEL/TIE before finally joining SM&A as a Contracts Consultant and then retiring in 2003.
Dick was not only inspirational at work but also in all the lives he touched. He was always quick with a smile and a joke, an active participant in his kid's lives, playing tennis, soccer, fishing, as well as fixing whatever needed fixing or renovating.
A memorial celebrating Dick's life will be held at the family home on Sat, Jan. 15, 2010 starting at 2pm. 650-948-1049 or 650-941-7854. Remembrances may be made to the Alzheimer's Assn. or Hospice Foundation.

Dear Margee - SO SORRY TO LEARN OF DICK'S PASSING. HE WAS SUCH A DEAR FRIEND AS WELL AS VALUED MENTOR IN OUR LOCKHEED CAREERS. GOD BLESS.

Dear Margee and Family
I can remember going to some of those events at your house where the kids would serve the dinner and thinking what a marvelous family. You and Dick raised a loving family.
I know you will all miss him a lot. So will I. A marvelous person of integrity who you could always trust to do the right thing.

Dick was a great leader. I thoroughly enjoyed working with and for him at Lockheed. He was 'even keel' and always had a sense of humor. Margee, I will hold you and your family in my thoughts and prayers. Dick will always be with you in spirit and his love for you will continue to shine.
