Richard Pavlick Obituary

Richard George Pavlick Richard G. Pavlick, (June 5, 1936 - January 26, 2008), age 71, beloved father, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 26, 2008 after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Muskegon Heights, Michigan to George and Helen Pavlick, he graduated from Fontana High School after he relocated with his family to California as a teenager. After serving in the U.S. Army for two years, he married Eliana Ortega and settled in Ontario, California, later having five girls together. He continued his education at Chaffey College. Richard worked in the manufacturing industry for most of his career, primarily for General Dynamics and Freightliner Corp. His passion was cars, and he enjoyed tinkering with his cars and motorcycles in his free time. In order to live closer to his daughters and grandchildren, Richard moved to San Jose in 2005. He is survived by his former wife, Eliana, and five daughters - Maria, Gabriela, Michelle, Monica, and Carla - along with six grandchildren. He also leaves behind his brothers, Tom Pavlick and Greg Garlington, and sister, Steve-Ann Parkey. May you breathe, speak, laugh, and eat freely in Heaven, Dad. Family and friends are welcome to attend a memorial Mass on Friday, February 8 at 11 a.m. at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, 200 O'Connor Drive, San Jose. Burial will immediately follow at Santa Clara Mission Cemetery, 490 Lincoln St., Santa Clara. Arrangements by California Cremation Society. In lieu of flowers, donations in Richard's memory may be made to: Hospice of the Valley, 4850 Union Ave., San Jose, 95124; or to Second Harvest Food Bank of Santa Clara County, Attn: Development Department, 750 Curtner Avenue, San Jose, 95125.
