Robert E. Huston

Robert entered into rest July 28, 2006 in Santa Clara, CA. He was born in Windsor, Missouri on April 29, 1941 and has been a resident of San Jose for the past 40 yrs.In 1963, Robert earned a Bachelor's degree with honors in Electrical Engineering from the University of Missouri, Rolla. He then received a Master's degree from Purdue University.In 1964, he moved to Santa Barbara where he worked for General Motors Research Laboratory and developed electric propulsion systems for various projects including the Apollo Lunar Rover.In 1967, he moved to San Jose, CA to work for Fairchild Test Systems as Key Technologist and Engineering Manager for Sentry test systems. He continued in the Automated Test Equipment field for 40 years and was regarded as a leader in test and measurement of semiconductors. He worked for Genrad, Trillium, LTX, Credence Systems, 3MTS, and Nextest.Robert received numerous awards and accolades including a patent in 2000, National Science Foundation Fellow, Who's Who in American Business Leaders, IEEE Computer Society Golden Core, and LTX Fellow. He published several papers and was a member of, Tau Beta Pi, Eta Kappa Nu, Phi Kappa Phi, and Kappa Mu Epsilon honor societies.Robert will be deeply missed by his wife Nancy Lou of 28 yrs. Daughters; Janet Lynne Palmer & Marcia Lynn Woodward, Sons; Rob Huston Jr. & Michael Patrick Woodward, Sister; Sue Huston Hooker, Four Grandchildren and One Great-Grandchild.Visitation will be held on Mon., July 30 from 6:30 to 8pm at Darling Fischer Chapel of the Hills, 615 N. Santa Cruz Ave., Los Gatos, CA. Funeral Services will be held on Tues., Aug. 1 at 10 AM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 6625 Camden Ave. San Jose, CA followed with burial at Los Gatos Memorial Park.

Sorry to hear about Robert's passing on, would have liked to have had the chance to see him at the 50 class reunion. I know it is a great lost to the family and he left many love ones behind. Think of the happy times you had together and the great memories. God bless the Huston family.

Condolences to all of Robert's family from an old Windsor friend who knew him as a neighbor when we were kids playing with electric trains and when he went off to college at Rolla driving the MGA! May you find comfort in his life and many accomplishments.

The Windsor, MO class of 1959 would like to express our condolences to Robert's family. We have kept in touch through e-mail for many years. Our 50th reunion is being planned for 2009 and Robert had indicated that he would attend. We will remember him and 9 other classmates at our next reunion.

Again, our deepest sympathy goes out to his family.
