Ronald Allen passed away on Wednesday, March 26 after a valiant battle with cancer. He defined so many through his honesty, integrity, knowledge, and uncompromising truth.
Ron was born August 30, 1948 in San Francisco, CA and resided in Baton Rouge, LA and San Jose, CA.
Ron was the son of the late Mr. Robert Allen, Sr. and Mildred Beatrice Chalk.
Ron attended Franklin McKinley High School in Baton Rouge, LA and received a Bachelor of Science in Physics at Dillard University; a Masters in Chemistry at Rutgers University; and post-graduate degree at Union College and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
Ron was employed at GE Research Center in Schenectady, NY; Xerox Palo Alto Research Center PARC in Palo Alto, CA; Vice President of Komag, Inc. in Milpitas, CA; Founder/CEO of Quippe Technologies, Inc. in Fremont, CA; Founder/CEO of Vistrian, Inc. in Milpitas, CA. As a scientist and inventor, Ron was awarded 12 United States and International patents.
Ron was a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity. At Albany State University, he was co-founder and professor of Project Mercury, which educated young black men in the area of technology.
Ron is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Brenda Joyce Allen (A.K.A. "Boo"); his daughter, Etoi Nicol Allen; his two brothers, Robert Allen and Hodges Allen; his granddaughter, Riley Siranoosh Allen Casey; his mother-in-law, Dorothy Smith; and numerous sister-in-laws, brother-in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of special friends.
He was a faithful and loyal husband to Brenda, her "Rock" and a great teacher and father to Etoi, her "Superman". Ron will be dearly missed by many. He defined so many through his honesty, integrity, knowledge, and uncompromising truth.
