Ruth Hart Obituary

Ruth E. Hart

Resident of Los Altos

The gracious, fun, lovely lady who kept our little family together left us peacefully on October 30th. She was talking to her sister, Joy, at the time. At her firm direction she spent the last several months at home in her bed with her family close at hand. It was difficult, because she was a doer, witness her having been a Brownie and Girl Scout leader, a Cub Scout leader, was active in the Children's Home Society, was a docent for the Heard Museum in Phoenix, was a docent at FILOLI for over 20 years, was active on the Stanford Treasure Mart and Friends of the Los Altos library. She loved traveling, food (she was adventuresome), Carmel, Tadich Grill, murder mysteries, flowers and The Islands. Her occupations varied from being a 4th grade teacher, to placing temporary help, to her own service business. She was proud of her degree from Cal and her membership in Tri-Delta sorority.

The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Hospice of the Valley, 4850 Union Ave, San Jose, CA 95124, 408-553-5600. There will be a memorial service held on Saturday, 11/27/10, 10:30 am at the United Methodist Church, 655 Magdalena Avenue, Los Altos, CA 94024, 650-948-1083.
