Ruth Laura Stokes
A resident of Sunnyvale
4-29-1918 to 9-9-2010
Ruth, Sunnyvale resident of 54 years, has passed peacefully in her sleep, at the age of 92. Ruth follows her husband Scott Clifton Stokes and her son Richard Stokes. She will be sorely missed by many friends, family and neighbors. Ruth leaves her daughter Sondra Viau and her son Larry Stokes, Grandchildren Lorrie, Kevin, Jessie, Jennifer, Adam, Julie and Tara. She also leaves behind six Great Grandchildren.
Services for Ruth are to be held at Evergreen Valley United Methodist Church, 3520 San Felipe Road, San Jose, CA 95135, on September 19th, 2010, at 5:00 pm. There will be a gathering at Ruth's home afterward for those who would like to attend. If you would like to make a donation in lieu of flowers please do so to the Cancer Society.

My Nana was and is one of the most genuine person that i have known out of all my family. Even though its been a few months thats she has been away from us, she is still here; she passed on her beautiful personality and genuine nature to those who have been fortunante enough to aknowledge a unique gift that she has. I admire her, i always have. My Nana was the kind of woman who faught to keep her family together. One thing that i love about you nana is that you have taught me to love people unconditionally and yes it takes patience, and being a Stokes our patience is short.:) I cant wait to come and visit you soon. I wish i was able to see you more the last couple years. I am too proud to be your granddaughter.
