Scott Schermetzler Obituary

Scott Schermetzler

Resident of Burlingame

Feb. 16, 1948-July 15, 2010

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Scott "Scotty" Schermetzler at the age of 62. Born in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, Scotty was one of two children and graduated from Oshkosh High School in 1966 as one of their star athletes. He attended Drake University on a football scholarship before beginning his career in the moving and storage business throughout the West Coast.

Upon retirement in 2008, Scotty moved to Burlingame to be with his loving partner, Carol. He made friends everywhere he went with his bigger than life, fun-loving personality. He loved people, playing golf, traveling, smoking cigars, playing cards, reading and being with his family and friends. He was a wonderful father, fabulous brother, loving partner and great friend. He will forever be a big presence in our hearts and will be greatly missed & warmly remembered by all whose lives he touched.

Scotty was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Laura and is survived by his loving partner Carol, daughters Jessica (Jeff) and Jenny (Justin), sister Janey (Ron), stepdaughter Nicole (Rod) and stepson Frank (Meghan). He was the proud grandfather of Brenna, Audrey, Beckett, Emma, Nicholas and Lily.

A celebration of Scotty's life will be held October 3, 2010 at Poplar Creek Golf Course, San Mateo, CA from Noon to 4:00 p.m.
