Shirley Lopes Obituary

Shirley Nadine Lopes

Resident of San Jose

Feb. 22, 1922-Oct. 28, 2010

After 15 months of failing to thrive, on Oct. 28th, Shirley peacefully reached the end of her journey at the age of 88 in her home with Richard Harris, her partner-for-life of 19 years, by her side.

After raising her 3 children Shirley was Attendance Secretary, Presentation Catholics High School 1975-1987. In those 12 years she was universally liked by members of 15 graduating classes. For many of the girls she was not only a friend but often their personal confidant and was respected by faculty and staff as well.

She was preceded in death by her husbands Frank J. Sollazzi and Donald A. Lopes and her son Frank C. Sollazzi. She is survived by her daughter Jacqueline Regan and son Ronald Lopes; sister-in-law Gerri McDonald, dtrs-in-law Susan Sollazzi, and Susana Lopes; grandsons Jeff and Mark Beltramo and Blaine and Bryce Sollazzi; grand-dtrs-in-law Mindy and Tabatha Beltramo and Wendy Sollazzi; and 7 great-grand-children.

She will be laid to rest beside her late husband Don Lopes at the Santa Clara Mission Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to a charity of your choice.
