Mar 30, 1936-Aug.30, 2010

Shirley passed away in her home with her loving husband, Russell, and four of six children, Andrew David Bardo, Anthony G. Bardo, Gina Meri Taylor, and Chet Michael Bardo gathered around her bed. She lost her six-year battle with cancer, Monday morning, August 30th.

Including the above, Shirley is survived by her son, Nicholas Bardo, step-daughter, Hether Mills Hartshorn, beloved sister, Dorothy Bare, brother, William Robert Turner, sister-in-laws, Norma Turner, and Mary DiVincenzo, eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, eighteen nieces and nephews, and a large extended family.

Born March 30, 1936, to William Henry Turner and Leah Turner Meeker in La Puente, California. At eight, Shirley, Mother Leah, Sister Dorothy, and Brother Bill moved to San Jose, California and lived there until 1971. Then she moved to Half Moon Bay, California, where (in her words) "I found paradise".

Shirley became active in local politics and community projects. She worked on the Pumpkin Festival for 23 years in various positions and became Chairperson of the Festivals' Shirt and Sweat Shirt Booth.

She will be seriously missed, by all, for her spirit, kindness, generosity, and willingness to help friends and family.

Friends and family are invited to a memorial to celebrate her life, Friday, September 17th, 2010, 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM, at the Harbor House (aka Maverick's Lodge and Event Center) located at 107 Broadway Avenue, Princeton-By-The-Bay, California.
