Stephen J. Corio|
August 5, 1946 - October 5, 2013
Resident of San Jose
Stephen John Corio was born on August 5, 1946 to Steve and Grace Corio in Los Angeles, California. His sudden passing has left a gaping hole in the lives of those who knew and loved him.
Those in Steve's sphere were truly lucky individuals and proud to be a part of his life. His love, loyalty, and commitment to his family, friends, colleagues and students were always apparent. Those who knew Steve, deeply appreciated his integrity, strength of character, sensitivity and kindness. These were not clichés for him; he lived them on a daily basis. These attributes, along with his good nature and sense of humor easily drew people to him. Family, friends and students would often seek Steve out for his wise counsel and encouraging words which he was happy to provide.
Steve graduated from Loyola High School in 1964. As a "double Bronco," Steve received a B.A. in Economics and an MBA from Santa Clara University. He was a successful business executive at IBM for 27 years. Steve loved teaching and sales management and his experience as a trainer at IBM motivated him to develop and teach several university courses while still at IBM.
Following his retirement, Steve's second career was Adjunct Professor teaching both graduate and undergraduate courses in Sales Management and Marketing at San Jose State and Santa Clara University. He also founded Corio Consulting, a provider of consulting services for business development, resource planning and sales management. Steve was highly regarded for his expertise and professionalism throughout his careers and always encouraged others to perform to their utmost potential. A gracious man, Steve was a true gentleman in every sense of the word.
Steve was extremely proud of his family, his Italian heritage, and traditional values. He is survived by his son, Steve Corio and daughter-in-law Aeysha, daughter, Lisa England and son-in-law John England and sister Rita Jean Bonasera and brother-in-law Mickey Bonasera. He was the loving "Papa" of grandchildren Stevie Grace, Taison, Roxie, Gianna, LaShelle and Marissa Rullan. He is pre-deceased by his wife Toni Corio to whom he was happily married for 40 years until her passing in 2008. Our only comfort during this time of grief is that he is now reunited with his beloved Toni.
A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, October 15 at 11:00 AM at Darling & Fischer Campbell Memorial Chapel, 231 E. Campbell Ave. Campbell, CA 95008. Interment to follow. Visitation on Monday, October 14 from Noon to 6 P.M.
