William Norris Obituary

William J. Norris

Resident of Santa Cruz

12/24/53 - 9/13/10

Bill Norris had a heart of gold. He was magnanimous with time, money and affection. He loved books and movies and nature and peanut butter and MAD magazine. He loved Joni Mitchell, travel adventures, social justice and he loved his solitude. Bill was born in Michigan and made his home in Colorado for several years before coming to Santa Cruz in 1978. He met and married Giovanna and together they delighted in raising their daughter Jesse. Bill was a devoted father, husband and friend. He was a lifelong liberal but read Atlas Shrugged annually! His interest in all things related to money led to a successful career in financial planning where he won numerous awards and accolades. Bill fought a long battle against the complications of Hepatitis C. He died at home surrounded with love from family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother Shirley and his twin sister Betty. Friends are invited to a memorial celebration on October 24, 1PM at the family home in Capitola. [email protected] for info.
