Vince passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on March 01, 2014. He was born in Mina, South Dakota and served in the US Army in Korea. He leaves behind his wife of 43 years, Eleanor (Ellie), his children Debbie Brown (John), Kim Kaven (Laurie), Joanne Sharman( Lon), step-children Terri Gomes (Steve), Eric Kristich (Elaine), preceded in death, Milo Kristich. Vince is preceded in death by his siblings, Leota Hormann, Clarence Kaven, and Lavern Kaven; survived by his brother Lawrence Kaven (Evelyn), 12 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, and many nieces and nephews. Vince retired from Macy's after 34 years. He was a member of the American Legion #419 and Santa Clara Elks #2347. Family and friends are invited to attend a 12 noon service on Friday, March 7, 2014, at Lima Family Mortuary, 466 N. Winchester Blvd., Santa Clara. He will be deeply missed by his loving family and by all who knew him. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the American Lung society.
