Sal Ferla passed away, like he lived his life, both peacefully and with great dignity, on June 20th, 2014 at Good Samaritan Hospital. He was surrounded by his loving wife, Gloria, his sister, Mary, and his close and dear friends. Sal was born In Middletown, Connecticut on February 4th, 1932 and moved, with his family, to Los Gatos, CA when he was 19 months old. He was married for 38 years to his precious Gloria, where they spent many happy years in the company of family and friends. Sal was known for his sharp wit, his generous and giving spirit, and his love and care for all he came across. He always had a twinkle in his eye and a bounce to his step. He was in business at Kings Court Barbershop in Los Gatos for 48 years with his lifelong friend and business partner, Leland Giraudo. Sal was a member of the San Jose Elks, he was an avid hunter and fisherman, he loved to play a round of golf, or two, and he was known for his love of gourmet cooking. He is survived by his wife Gloria, his sister, Mary Locatelli, and numerous nieces and nephews. Sal was a faithful and loving husband, brother, son, and friend who was loved and will be missed by all those who knew him. "Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master's happiness!" Matthew 25:23). Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 pm, Thursday, June 26th at the Darling-Fischer Chapel of the Hills, 615 N. Santa Cruz Ave., Los Gatos CA. Graveside service on Friday, June 27th at 2:00 pm at Santa Clara Catholic Mission Cemetery.
