Robert (Bob) Komenovich passed away peacefully on July 30, 2014 after a brief illness. He was born to Jovan Komenovich and Danica (Novakovich) Komenovich on January 8, 1931 in Los Altos, CA.
Bob was an orchardist who grew prunes, cherries, and apricots in the Santa Clara Valley.
Bob loved working for the City of Santa Clara for 25 years. In those 25 years he developed long lasting friendships. He enjoyed gardening, cooking shows, and most of all, Sunday dinners with his family.
Bob was a long time member of St. Archangel Michael Serbian Orthodox Church, The Odd Fellows, Serbian Club Omladina, and the First Serbian Benevolent Society.
Bob is preceded in death by Borika, his wife of 47 years. He is survived by his sister Millie LaPava and his five children and their spouses: Mara Grajeda (Doug), Diane Komenovich, John Komenovich, Robert Komenovich, Jr. (Judy), and Yvonne Pryor (Robert). He is also survived by six grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Vigil Service will be held on Sunday, August 3, 2014 at 7:00 PM at Alameda Family Funeral Home, 12341 Saratoga-Sunnyvale Rd, Saratoga. Funeral service will be held on Monday, August 4, 2014 at 10:00 AM at St. Archangel Michael Serbian Orthodox Church, 18870 Allendale Ave, Saratoga, CA followed by burial at the Serbian Cemetery, Colma.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Archangel Michael Church Building Fund or Hospice of the Valley.
