Obituary Condolences

Raymond M. Lopez Nov. 24, 1946-Apr. 17, 2009 Peacefully passing on the morning of April 17th, after a courageous battle with cancer, Raymond has gone home. Ray worked as an electrical mechanic for Mr. Orville Griffin at Electric Battery Station on South First Street in San Jose. He held Mr. Griffin in high regards for the opportunity provided, and the Griffin Family for their kindness and support. The remaining years of Raymond's life were spent surrounded by the love of his family, and his grandchildren whom he adored. They were grateful to spend a final vacation together in Cancun, Mexico last summer. Raymond's presence and gift of storytelling will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Ray is survived by his beloved ex-wife, Sharlene Lopez, and their two daughters Michelle Short and Priscilla Lopez, son in law Michael Short, grandsons Elijah and Noah Short, granddaughter Reylene Rodriguez, daughter Desiree Nolan, sisters Gloria Rodriguez and Stella Martinez, and his brother Rick C. Torres. He is preceded in death by his sister Geri Shockley, mother Carmen A. Mendez and brother Richard J. Lopez. Viewing will be at the Neptune Society located at 798 South Second Street in San Jose on Sunday, April 26th from 10 am-2:30 pm. A Memorial Service in Raymond's honor will be held at 3 pm, following the viewing, at The Cathedral of Faith, 2315 Canoas Garden Avenue, San Jose.
