Obituary Condolences

Mario Paolini Beloved husband, father, nonno, and friend, passed away on October 31, 2009. Born in San Francisco on October 12, 1937, he moved to Los Gatos at age seven with his parents, Paolo and Giuseppina Paolini. A graduate of Los Gatos High '55, Mario married sweetheart Sally Mattiuz '59 in 1960. He served in the US Army, worked as a plasterer, bricklayer, liquor shop owner, and auto sales and service representative. Mario loved his family tremendously. He was proudest of his beautiful children, Adrienne and Paul. He cherished life with Sally, and he did it all: raced motorcycles, dove for abalone, fished, hunted, played handball and softball, coached his son's Little League teams, enjoyed sports, traveled, camped, barbecued, hugged everybody, and always shared his home with generations of loved ones. In a note left to his family, he wrote, "it's been a great run, no regrets, lots of laughs." Mario is survived by his wife Sally, daughter Adrienne Paolini-McGrath and son-in-law Sully McGrath, son Paul Paolini and his partner Tom Murray, grandchildren Ashley, Hunter, Mitchell, Alexis, and Gabriella McGrath; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Carroll and Toni Blackstock and Mort and Alba Milesi Sherin; nephews and nieces Auro Milesi, Liana Milesi Palmer, Mike, Andy and Bill Miller, Julie Miller Hollenback; and their families. He is preceded in death by his brother, Saido Milesi. Mario and Sally were grateful to the staff at Kaiser Cardiac Intensive Care unit for gifting them the last 11 years. A celebration of Mario's life will be held for family and friends on Sunday, November 15. For information, please call (408) 356-3311. Memorial gifts to your favorite charity.
